Troubleshooting

Fix sign-in failures and empty results, and disconnect the Huff connector.

Sign-in failures

"Join an organization first"

Huff tools work inside an organization, and your account does not belong to one. Choose Set up your organization on that page, or join with an invite from your team, then connect again.

The sign-in link is out of date or was changed along the way. Start the connection again from Claude. Do not reuse an old link.

"Not while viewing as someone else"

Connecting is refused while Huff staff are viewing an account as a customer. Stop viewing as them, then connect again.

You are sent to sign in or accept terms

This is expected if your session ended or Huff's terms have changed. Finish those steps and you return to the consent page.

Your email is not verified

Huff requires a verified email. Find the verification link in your inbox, click it, and start again.

Claude asks you to sign in again

A connection ends after 30 days without use, or after someone disconnects it. Connect again.

Calls fail with "you are no longer a member of the organization you connected"

You left the organization you approved. Remove the connector from Claude, and add it again while signed in to your current organization.

No results

Searches come back empty

The most common cause is markets:

  • Your organization has no market. Add one under Organization, then Billing. See Choosing markets.
  • You asked about a place outside your markets. search_signals searches only your markets, plus 2 miles past their edges.
  • Your team is limited to some markets. Ask an owner to check the team's assigned markets.
  • Your subscription lapsed. A market bought through Huff stops counting when its subscription is no longer active.

To tell these apart, ask Claude: "Run market_overview and tell me what is in my locality." If the locality has counts but searches are empty, your markets do not include it.

A site shows only its locality

get_site returns outside: true for a site outside your markets. Adding that locality as a market opens its details.

"that place is no longer on record"

You tried to pursue a site that is outside your markets or no longer exists. Both give the same answer on purpose.

"every site stop must be a site with a map point, inside your markets"

create_route found a site with no map point, or one outside your markets. Run list_routable_sites and use ids from that list.

"you are on more than one team"

start_pursuing needs to know which team. Tell Claude the team name.

"that lead belongs to another team"

Only that team, an owner, or an admin can change that lead.

How to disconnect

Do both of these to remove the connection completely:

  1. In Huff: open the menu behind your avatar, go to Profile, find Claude under Connected apps, and choose Disconnect. This ends access at once.
  2. In Claude: open Customize > Connectors and remove Huff, or use the three-dot menu next to it. On Team and Enterprise plans, owners can also remove it under Organization settings > Connectors.

Removing the connector only in Claude leaves the connection open on Huff's side. See Revoking access.
